| Description | The novel Final City focuses one of the most disturbing issues of recent times: the murders of women in the border area of Mexico. Although this is an example of the thriller genre, the author Kama Gutier, however, aims primarily a critique on the alarming situation. The author claiming the Sartrean concept of literature, conceived as a tool to raise civic awareness of readers, wants to get them interested in the serious problems associated with this phenomenon. One of the main ideas is that of convincing the reader that, although these problems are linked to Mexican society, they affect us all in the contemporary globalized world. |
