Description This study, based on extensive analysis of archive sources and the available specialised literature, gives a picture of the political and social situation in the Czech Lands in post-war 1945 from the viewpoint of the formation of a united trade union organisation. Within a short period of time, the Revolutionary Trade Union Movement formed became a rock of support for the communists who held the leading position in its control bodies, evidence of which is provided by the organisation structures of the unions that were established which took an entirely different form to the structures seen in the pre Minich period. The author has focused attention, first to push through nationalisation and in the sphereof social politics.
