Description Thesis contains mapping of medieval and baroque national literary production with regard to spiritual lyric poetry and hymn books. For analysis was chosen a collection of texts from time of around year 1300, next baroque hymn books Czech Marian music and Saint-yearlong music by Adam Václav Michna from Otradovice, and two lyric works by Fridrich Bridel – hymn book Nativity and meditative poem What the God? Man? Texts served to illustration of big potential of Christian symbology. The comparison proved that the Christian symbology was changed in the area of extent and frequency of used symbols and symbolic spheres, in its character, function, commonality or exclusiveness of using.
