| Description | The Public Defender of Rights should seek accrediation as a Naitonal Human Rights Institution (NHRI). She would thsu become part of an international network of similar institutions and could increase her legitimacy in the national context and also establish net international contacts. At the same time, the Czech Republic would comply with the recommendations of international institutions. In the future, the Defender's Office could focus more on empirical research into the situation of human rights, which would facilitate drafting better proposals for strategic measures and preparation of shadow reports for international monitoring bodies based on the relevant data. |
