Description Cross border evidence taking is regulated by national laws, international treaties and EU regulation. This lecture deals with parallel existence of two similar bodies of legislation regulating the taking of cross-border evidence - Hague Convention on Taking Evidence and EU Evidence Regulation. The question is whether any benefit can be derived from this coexistence in the sense that these regulations might not be mutually exclusive but, to the contrary, synergic, all the more so in a situation where the more recent rule (the Regulation) does not hide the fact that it draws inspiration for its contents from the older rule.
