Description The radiotherapy is a treatment modality for gynecological cancer. Radiotherapy is divided in external radiotherapy and brachyradiotherapy. By using of modern technologies of radiation there is less irradiation of surrounding tissues, so acute and late toxicity is reduced. Irradiation of skin, gastrointestinal, urogenital and hematopoetic system are the most frequent side effects. Side effects can be systemic or local, according to time of appearance early, late or very late. Acute and chronic changes are rate according to the scoring systems. Karnofski index or WHO classification is used to evaluate overall condition of the patient. Radiotherapy should be indicated by the interdisciplinary commission for gynecology cancer ("tumor board").
