| Description | This chapter elaborates on preparatory proceedings as the initial stage of criminal proceedings. It describes and clarifies forms of preparatory proceedings, its two phases - examination and investigation, decisions that may be made in their course, bodies active in preparatory proceedings, acts in preparatory proceedings, its deadlines, participation of subjects, namely of the suspect or accused etc. Special attention is paid to fast track preparatory proceedings and to the initiation of criminal proceedings as well as of criminal prosecution, which starts the phase of investigation. |
