| Description | In 2018, the idea of creating standardized teaching materials was fully established at the English section of the Masary University Language Centre at the Faculty of Medicine. At same time, there appeared a need to shift the course concept away from the knowledge of medical terminology towards communication skills in clinical practice. The authors of the article will acquaint the audience with the practical experience gained in the related activities. In particular, the paper will focus on: i) setting course goals (with an emphasis on reflection, self-reflection, cognition and related metalanguage); ii) topic-based and skills-based sylabus; iii)choice of input material and its (further) didactization, iv) teaching methodology and typology of specific tasks, v) creation of accompanying materials (glossary, vocabulary). |
