Description Traditional agrarian culture on Balkan used to be very fudnamental. Unlike other spheres of everyday life, it was missing any more complex forms. Target of this article is to define elementar forms of Balkan agrarian culture; reasons and context of it's retardation; and impact of aforementioned upon everyday life. Unlike in most Europe, minor grain growing was not profitable on Balkan and as such, it didn't motivate innovation of work processes, technologies and tools. Predominant horticulture-like cultivation of farmland had minimal requirements upon technologies and tools. Bigger production was achieved by expansion of farmland, by incresing numbers of livestock, eventually by simply working more. Also, innovation was not only limited by natural condition and different traditions, but Balkan was also missing strong impulse that will start any changes; something similar to what central and western Europe lived through in form of medieval transformation. For Balkan people, the solution was in diversification of livehood sources, in fusion of both agrarian and non-agrarian produciotn, and in trade. As a result, this approach limited impact of their very elementar agrarian culture upon living and cultural standards of common folks.
