Description In this work the use of underwater discharge as a method of surface treatment of the polypropylene (PP) nonwoven textile is investigated. The discharge was generated using a diaphragm electrode configuration. The electrodes were connected to a pulsed HV power supply based on the double rotating spark gap. The effects of underwater plasma treatment on wetting and water adsorption behavior were characterized using water contact angle measurements and Strike through time measurements. The ageing effect is also studied. The surface chemical composition was analyzed by X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS).
