Description This paper is a case study of a project closing conference, held virtually, and the measures that were adopted to make the event accessible to an international group of Deaf, deaf, hard of hearing and hearing attendees. The main focus is on improving accessibility for participants with hearing loss who are at a disadvantage in terms of acquiring information in comparison with their hearing peers due to the lack of auditory input. After introducing briefly the LangSkills project and providing basic information about the closing conference, this paper focuses on describing the chosen approach to making communication inclusive and effective, the technical set up of the conference, the pros and cons of the selected approaches, and summarizes the lessons learned, which also seem relevant in an inclusive distance teaching environment for students with hearing loss.
