Description The topic of loneliness in old age and, more broadly, exclusion from social relations has thus become more topical than ever. However, this monothematic issue does not focus only on the impacts of the current situation on older adults, its aim is to show the social relationships of odler adults in all their breadth, diversity and importance. Until recently, some seniors felt lonely, but most live in socially broad social networks of family, friends, neighbors and other people. Nevertheless, social relationships in old age are usually examined as sources of care. Family, but also friendly and neighborhood ties are viewed in the perspective of the ability to provide assistance, as a source of informal assistance. However, their significance is much broader and elementary for man and society. At the same time, ageing and especially old age are significantly changing the form and possibilities of social relationships, due to the loss of peer relationships, possible physical and mental limitations and greater attachment to the apartment.
