| Description | Rituximab is a monoclonal antibody to the CD20 antigen of B lymphocytes, its effect is depletion of B lymphocytes and it is used also in the therapy of autoimmune diseases, including bullous dermatoses, especially pemphigus. Its early administration in pemphigus has been shown to significantly shorten the time to remisssion annd reduce the total dose of corticosteroids and immunosuppresants administered. |
