Description The study presents research results concerning the educational aspect of the permanent exhibition Encyclopaedia of Silesia in the Silesian Museum in Opava in relation to the issue of Czech national identity. Education reality is represented by the interconnection of the exhibition and exhibits with the framework education programmes for primary schools, which demonstrate the state social discourse in the field of education. Methodology of the case study was based on a dispositive analysis, which comprised a materialisation analysis, i.e. analysis of particular exhibits related to Czech national identity. Regarding the research objective, the study also concentrates on the relationship between museum education and framework education programmes commonly used in schools, including a document, which the museum educators should be familiar with.
