| Description | Volume 4 of Writings of Kristijonas Donelaitis is a critical edition of historical and literary sources concerning the work and life of Kristijonas Donelaitis (1714-1780), one of the most prominent authors of the old Lithuanian literature. It includes Donelaitis’s official writings in German: his petitions, reports, aide-memoirs, legal suits, etc., many of these sources being published for the first time. The critical edition of these texts is accompanied by the translation into Lithuanian. This edition aims to present a documentarily precise (literal diplomatic) transcript of Donelaitis’s official German writings prepared digitally and conveyed by means of contemporary equivalents of early graphemes. The documentary edition and the translation into Lithuanian proclaim Donelaitis’s official writings as cultural heritage of outstanding national and international value. |
