| Description | This article focuses on the European Union’s reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic as reflected in the multiannual financial framework 2021-2027 and the European Stability Mechanism. The article highlights certain issues related to the new political and economic direction of the EU. We address a) the temporary instrument NextGenerationEU (together with its main element Recovery and Resilience Facility) which is expected to have an impact on national policies and accelerate the economic recovery, b) Pandemic Crisis Support which is available to eurozone members. |
