Description Determining the function of discovered artefacts is the daily bread of the archaeologist and is often a truly difficult task. The new installment of the podcast "The Middle Ages (Differently) Last" is dedicated to just one such "puzzle". What value might lost objects have for future generations of researchers? Are art historians only interested in paintings, or can grooves in stone also be an important historical source? And what do we know about building practices in the early Middle Ages? This time, archaeologist Jiří Macháček and art historian Ivan Foletti are heading back to South Moravia and together they will examine one of the objects found in the vicinity of the Great Moravian rotunda in Pohansko near Breclav.
