Description So-called archaeogenetics represents a literal revolution in contemporary archaeology. Its main goal is to analyse genomes from skeletal remains and to track biological changes in past populations. It is thus one of the other research methods that have emerged from the collaboration of the humanities and the natural sciences. What is the contribution of archaeogenetics to our understanding of the past and what ethical risks does it pose? And can archaeogenetics be used by modern medicine? Listen to the new installment of the podcast The Middle Ages Otherwise Lasts with archaeologist Jiří Macháček and art historian Ivan Foletti.
