Description Zoonoses are infectious diseases transmissible between animals and humans. From the obtained tissue samples analysed by the PCR method to detect Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato, 40 % of the examined samples from the Žabčice landfill (N = 112) were positive, 14% of the examined samples from the village of Ledce (N = 59) and only in 3.3% of the examined samples from the protected area of Moravian Karst (N = 30) were positive.
