| Description | The study analyses the gradual discursive transformation of the library profession, especially between 1948 and 1968. It shows how the position of the librarian, who in the interwar period was often a teacher, gradually changed into a professional whose social task and expected mission was education. It aims to describe the social and historical phenomena that impact this transformation of the librarian's professional identity as an educator. The study works with contemporary documents and shows the transformation of the librarian through their example. The year 1959, associated with the creation the new library law, can be marked as a crucial milestone in this process. It focuses on the period from 1948 to 1968, which marks the end of the first phase of the formation of socialist librarianship and the definition of the librarian's role as part of the communist regime. |
