Description The results of 32 winter bat censuses at 4 caves of the southern part of Moravian karst since 1957 till 2001 are presented. In total, 13 hibernating bat species have been recorded, R. hipposideros and M. myotis as the most numerous. Their numbers have significantly increased since 1993. The rare species, M. blythii has been recorded only during three censuses, last in 1977.
