Description An analysis of 850 wills of burghers from the royal town Chrudim between 1505 and 1760. The paper deals with the religious aspects of the last wills, ie. with preambles (invocatio, arenga) marking both reasons for making a will and mans relation to death, as well as with burial and mass bequests. The consideration is finally given to church and charitable bequests as well as to the connection of a pious legacy with an early modern last will.
