Description The author analyze cases of viral hepatitis which were diagnosed and notified as an occupational disease at the Clinic of Occupational Medicine of Faculty Hospital st. Anna in Brno between 1988 and 2004. The group include 142 person from southern Moravia - 121 women and 21 men. By 4 person were notified two types of hepatitis. Viral hepatitis B was notified most often –79 cases (54,1%), followed by hepatitis A –33 cases (22,6%) and hepatitis C –21 cases (14,4%),in 13 cases (8,9%) we dont know exactly the typ of hepatitis. The average age at the time of notification of occupational diseases in the observed period was 36 years by men and 38 years by women. The duration of exposure fluctuated between 3 and 22 years with the average 5 years. Nurses of internal specialization suffered from occupational disses most often (59,9%), followed by physicians (11%).
