Description In the past 32 years, the overall majority of Hungary immigrant population has been coming from the neighboring countries, of whom a large percentage was of Hungarian ethnicity, most notably the former Romanian citizens after 1990, who received Hungarian citizenship in the largest number. At the top of the list of immigrants for the past 32 years are the Romanian citizens, followed by citizens of the former Soviet Union, former Czechoslovakia, former Yugoslavia and finally Austria. If we compare the data from the years before the change of political system with the information from the period after it, we find significant differences in the figures.
