| Description | A case of a patient with widespread psoriasis is described, in whom efalizumab was introduced because of the extent of the disease with unsatisfactory effect of phototerapy and contraindications for systemic treatment with cyclosporine, acitretin or methotrexate. The therapy with efalizumab has lead to almost complete remission within one month without any adverse effects. Efalizumab represents a very specific and effective therapy of psoriasis which enables a long-term control of severe cases of this disorder, often even in those patients contraindicated for conventional systemic treatment. |
