Description The authors present the body composition pro le of the womens national volleyball team of the Slovak Republic (participant of ME 2009). The body composition was identi ed with the use of the multi frequency bioimpedance method (Datainput 2004).The monitored parameters included the amount of lean body mass (LBM), intra and extracellular mass (BCM and ECM) and the body cell mass proportion in lean body mass and body fat mass (FM).The authors recorded the values of womens volleyball players indicating their good training load and corresponding to the values characterizing top performance sport.The overall body composition pro le of the womens national volleyball team of the Slovak Republic manifests appropriate predispositions of these players for their performance in volleyball. To conclude, the authors stress the need for the continuous monitoring of body composition with the aim of de ning an adequate supplementation, proper training methods and volumes of loading applied in individual periods of periodized training or after injuries, i.e. with the aim of contributing to the personal development of individual players.
