Citation
Description The making of a literary genre is determined by many factors. The crime novel belongs to a large family of fiction genres. It was created in the early 19th century in the USA and quickly found its way to Europe where, at the turn of the 20th century, crime stories were very popular. However, in the 1920s, America developed the so-called hard-boiled style. In this essay I would like to concentrate on the relationships between the individual types of crime fiction and this kind of genre as a whole.
