Description The lecture presents results of a survey conducted among students at McLennan Community College, Waco, Texas. Over 150 students participated in the survey by indicating their cultural values. The questions sought for the evaluative, cognitive, and motivational factors, i.e. how good an object of value is, how much one thinks about the object of value and how strongly is the object connected to ones goals. The data on the respondents cultural values were generated to yield the respondents preferences in value orientations (collectivism vs. individualism; altruism v. self-interest; industry vs. relaxation). The results were futher classified according to the respondents age, gender, ethnicity, and race.
