| Description | The paper presents research focused on the cognitive maps of the world of pupils in the age of 11 to 15. More than 300 pupils were asked to drew the map of the world – how they imagine it. Pupils used only pen to fill the task. they did not give the piece of advice. The cognitive mental maps are used as cartographic expression of geographic space. The maps have been analysed and cathegorized according to the system which was set up by the authors. We used the age of pupils and the grade of pupils which was used as the main variable for the research. The results show that the image of the world map depends on the age of pupils. |
