Description The bedbug (Cimex lectularius) is a parasitic insect feeding on blood. In humans it causes the disease called cimicosis. Their ability to survive in adverse conditions make bedbugs a serious health problem in the world. They live in colonies, mostly hidden in mattresses and other furniture. Bedbudgs are active mostly at dawn, looking for exposed parts of the body. A bedbug bite leads to urticaria with punctate hemorrhage in the middle, rarely anaphylactic reaction. In the differential diagnosis it is necessary to distinguish the attack of other parasitic insects (e.g. mosquitos, fleas) or urticaria of different etiology such as drug-induced. Treatment is symptomatic. This case report presents the diagnostic process in patient with pruritic urticarial papules and tries to present supportive evidence that a carefully taken history is the key to the correct diagnosis.
