Description Retrospective evaluation of the effectiveness of treatment of congenital Brown's syndrome in 23 patients, Children's Eye Clinic in Brno in 1995-2005 using a silicone tendon expander upper oblique muscle. The preoperative and postoperative motility were evaluate. Authors noted improvement in all patients and all patients had postoperative hypotropia less than 8 prism diopters. There were no cases of implant expulsion. Use 8-12 mm long silicone strip is suitable and safe method for the operation hypotropia greater than 16 to 20 prism dioptres in the treatment of Brown syndrome.
