Topic: Sweet or Metallic - Two Stories About Water With a Happy Ending

Language: The lecture will be held in Czech language.

Lecturer: Prof. Pavel Jungwirth, leader of the research group of Molecular modeling at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences and professor at the Department of Chemical Physics and Optics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague.

Water is probably the most studied system on Earth, still some of its surprising qualities fill us with awe. The lecture will be about two of such (independent) phenomena. Why is the taste of *heavy water* (contains deuterium, the hydrogen isotope with a mass double that of ordinary hydrogen) sweet? Is it possible to prepare *metallic water* or at least a metallic water solution, in ordinary terrestrial conditions?
