HUMAIN WORKSHOP: Generating a genre-specific musical composition using a variation autocoder

HUMAIN - WORKSHOP WITH DANIEL KVAK: Generating a genre-specific musical composition using a variation autocoder

The workshop will focus on the current possibilities and limits of artificial intelligence in the context of generating musical composition. We will use a specific example of Python code to show how easy it can be to emulate popular composers.

Mgr. Daniel Kvak is a PhD student in Digital Culture and Creative Industries at the Faculty of Arts, MU, where his main research focuses on the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in cultural domains. His dissertation focuses on the analysis of thematic and contextual structures and the possible application of the results in the framework of algorithmic composition generation. Outside of academia, he is CEO of Carebot, a company that develops second reading systems for X-ray images using artificial intelligence. As a result of his efforts, he appeared on the popular Forbes 30 under 30 list in 2022.
