MU Rector’s New Year message
Entering the new year of 2024 is completely different for Masaryk University than ever before. MU celebrated success in world rankings last year, but at the same time could not help but be affected by the tragic shooting that occurred at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University before Christmas. Rector Martin Bareš highlights both in his new year message.

Czech President appoints Martin Bareš MU Rector for next four years
On the proposal of the Academic Senate of Masaryk University, President Petr Pavel appointed last week the current rector, Martin Bareš, rector of Masaryk University for the next four years. Bareš’s second term of office begins on 1 September 2023 and will last until 31 August 2027.
