The consortium acknowledges the growing need from companies for the profile of an engineer in information services innovation. This profile is
best associated with the role of an experienced and entrepreneurial person in ICT, business, a certain domain or information systems and whose
mission is the innovative design and engineering of new information intensive services. The required body of knowledge needed is based on the
discipline of services science which develops the field of information systems by extending it to the concept of information intensive services.
Therefore, we aim to set up a LL framework where a training offer is defined and matched to professional needs, while guaranteeing the
availability of the most up to date services science knowledge built by the R&D community. The consortium will establish a continuous and
sustainable approach in support of the following interrelated activities:

1. Alignment of the requirements for this new job profile as identified by professionals in the private and public sectors to the education
offer from universities.

2. Efficient technology transfer of R&D results supporting innovation in services science into a curriculum supporting information services
design and engineering by professionals employed in the private and public sectors.

Results

A skills card for the competences required by the job profile of engineer in information services innovation. This will be organized in a knowledge map that supports the structuring of R&D activities and their available associated education components. On the basis of the skills card, learning trajectories associated with a set of education components for training potential students with a suitable background of knowledge. Besides the identification of LL training components, the best approach for delivering them to experts working in companies will be investigates. During the project we are also expecting to open this Think Tank to other interested parties and also to maintain the exchange between the R&D, education and professional communities beyond the project.
