This research project examines the transformations of the literary representation of the figure of the gaucho in Argentine literature from the late 19th to the early 21st century. It focuses primarily on the works of selected contemporary authors - Martín Kohan, Gabriela Cabezón Cámara and Pablo Katchadjian - from the perspective of the emerging literary generation's relationship to the literary canon and the possibilities of its reformulation.
