Advantages and disadvantages of forced-choice items compared to agree-disagree scales

First, we will write a tutorial that demonstrates the way forced choice items can be analyzed in a free, open-source program R. Second, we will compare the properties of various response scales in terms of their validity, reliability, and overall measurement quality. Therefore, our aim is to provide practitioners with a useful tutorial on item analysis and to bring new insights into the functioning of the most common response scales.
