The aim of the project is to systematically map local digital art in the context of digital culture. For this purpose, a suitable methodology will be defined, adequate research tools will be developed and basic historiographical research will be carried out. The research method is based on a productive change of perspective on digital culture and art. This change consists in researching the global phenomena of digital culture at the local level and with a focus on digital art. This will be seen as a significant manifestation of digital culture and as a means of its critical and creative reflection. The research results will be a significant contribution to the mapping of the history of digital art in Central Europe and will provide a conceptual framework and information base for future research projects in this territory. The main outputs are two specialist books (B): one focused on methodology and terminology for digital culture and art research and the other summarizing the historiographical research carried out within the project.
It is the first attempt to systematically conduct basic research on local digital art and culture.
