he proposed Advanced Research Workshop aims to enhance the application of the latest 3D-based methods used in human-centered design in the development, production, testing, and distribution of head-related CBRN protection and headgear in general. Research teams will present the latest methods for capturing and analyzing 3D head and face morphology, objective indicators of comfort, and the application of these data in headgear design and production. Manufacturers and institutions responsible for military equipment testing and standard setting will present the practical limitations of applying these modern methods and the current challenges they face. The ARW will also address the specific characteristics of target populations in NATO and NATO partner countries. The implementation of modern 3D-based methods in practice and their adaptation to the current needs of manufacturers has the potential to significantly increase the efficiency of development, production, and distribution of head-related CBRN protection and other headgear. Such equipment should better fit target populations and be used more safely and effectively. These methods also have the potential to enhance the procurement of equipment within NATO and NATO partner countries. In the short term, the output will include materials summarizing the content of the workshop. In the long term, the goal is to define topics and build consortia for a Multi-Year Project.
