Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute Brno
The National Institute for Cancer Research (NICR) was established under the NPO EXCELES project implemented between 2022 and 2025 with the aim of creating a sustainable national platform that connects excellence in cancer research, innovation, and their application across the Czech Republic. During the implementation of the EXCELES programme, NICR successfully evolved from a consortium of leading institutions into a coordinated national ecosystem comprising 65 research groups from 11 partner organisations, organised into five complementary research programmes covering the entire oncology research and innovation value chain.
The proposed project builds upon the original initiative and aims to support the maintenance and further development of the platform that has been established.
Sustainable Development Goals
Masaryk University is committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to improve the conditions and quality of life on our planet by 2030.
