We envision inclusive mainstream education systems that, thanks to specifically trained teachers and accessible materials, are better prepared to welcome non- and partially sighted pupils to their mathematics education. SMILE will indirectly also foster the knowledge building of pupils and can, by this, motivate them to access further education levels where also mathematical knowledge is relevant and, in any case, will help them to gain a better mathematical understanding for every day life.
