Description The paper deals with the theme of teachers social competence with a focus on empathy. It approaches the concept of empathy and its place in the structure of teachers social competences and the concept of pedagogical competences. Especially, however, it reflects the importance of empathy as one of the key dimensions affecting the quality of the educational process. In this context, it presents the findings of some studies dealing with the possibilities of the influence of teachers empathy on improving his/her educational efficiency
