Description Jean-François Vilar is an author of crime fiction which often takes place during times of revolution and coups d'Etat under various regimes, both totalitarian and democratic, in the 20th century. In his latest book he offers a surprising point of view on the recent history of Central Europe (the Munich Agreement and the Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia), as presented by a member of the French radical left. The article aims to analyse the author's intentions and his view of such issues and compare these against historical facts and their interpretations.
