| Description | The article deals with the identification of risk areas in the city of Ostrava, according to the crime rate. It uses the environmental approach for studying crime, which is represented by the authors of the Chicago School of Criminology and it tries using this approach to identify high-crime areas. The proper identification and determination of the risk rate of particular areas of the city is given by the results of its own sociological probe, under which the subjective opinions of citizens on the crime situation in the city are included. The final output of this thesis represents the processed map of the Ostrava city in term of risk rate of individual districts. |
