Description Cutaneous mycobacteriosis is a skin infection caused by atypical mycobacteria. One of the most typical agents of these skin infections is Mycobacterium marinum. These infections generally have very low pathogenity and are typical by their tendency to be chronic. Atypical mycobacteria cause tough, reddish or purple papules or nodules, typically localised on the upper extremities. This case report presents 2 male patients, aged 66 and 41. The diagnosis of cutaneous mycobacteriosis was based on clinical data and the patients anamnesis (both patients were amateur aquarists). Patients were treated with claritromycine, which acted rapidly and successfully to counter the infection.
