Description In the article the first attempt to classify the Middle Iranian languages, applying so-called 'recalibrated glottochronology', is presented in wider context of questions of genetic classification of Iranian languages. The results confirm the conclusions obtained in quantitative models of classification of modern Iranian languages, namely the western vs. eastern dichotomy is not valid.
