Description The article is focused on showing the concepts and empirical verification of two new created (alternative) bankruptcy models, especially designed for conditions of the Czech Republic (hereinafter CR). The goal of the article is to compare their explanatory power with standardized bankruptcy models (Z-score model, IN 05). Results compared are intended for assessing the quality of these new created (alternative) bankruptcy models and implicitly for the Z-score models applicability evaluation in CR. The database used (CreditInfo database) contains all the available data of Czech companies. The time horizon results compared is 2 and 5 years before bankruptcy of the firm. Based on the result comparison with standardized bankruptcy models the two new model are equivalent in one case (FLKp) and significantly better in the second case (CZ).
