Description By attaining maturity, the young assume full responsibility for their lives. Its greatest value is health, influencing all other aspects of human life. A number of serious questions pertaining to issues of health and diseases are being discussed only on the level of theoretical findings among experts, not reaching the broad public. Raising public health awareness is a necessity, particularly in view of the ageing population and increasing morbidity and mortality of preventable massively prevalent non-infectious diseases. We should seek more efficient tools for decreasing the incidence and prevalence of these diseases, capable of affecting both the personal life of the patient and the society as a whole. Primary care physicians play a vital role in primary prevention - general practitioners, dentists or gynecologists, providing free preventive examinations in statutory intervals; Their attendance in the Czech Republic is very low in comparison to many other developed European countries.
