Description The goal of this article is to analyze social aspects of electronic learning. The article contains a brief introduction to the topic and an analysis of social theories in the context of modern communication possibilities – i.e. in the context of indirect social interaction of students in the virtual space. The article also aims at summarizing social-economic aspects of students and educational institutions, which are important in practical application of e-learning. The problem of underprivileged social groups is briefly mentioned as well as the advantage of e-learning’s availability for certain student groups.
