Description The chapter "The law and the Power" begins with the definition of the concept of power. The author introduces definitions of power according to Max Weber and Michel Foucault and she defines collective power, and asymmetric power - the power over someone. The attention is also paid to the interaction between the law and the power. The law is a mean of coercion, but it also set limits of coercion. It is a tool just of a certain, defined and anticipated coercion, which is applied only in certain pre-defined cases. However, at the same time, legally are excluded - it means prohibited - and punished other types of coercion which are not based on the law. In conclusion, the author deals with the power and its legitimacy in the contemporary globalized discourse.
